Yet another NYC photograph. I’ve been editing away at these old images trying to gather a good amount of them for a show. Hopefully I can get into a gallery with them. Everyone likes to see NYC photographs right? Eh, maybe not me so much but if it will put dinner on the table then so be it. Perhaps I’ll post a few more of these so that everyone will have a better understand of how I’m editing these latest NYC photos. There will be a lot more color and other effects involved. Pow.

This particular photograph was taken while waiting in a car for a light cycle. Right at “getting off” time so the streets were more Jammed.. thus giving the photograph a name.

A lot is happening right now. A lot.

I need to make new prints and get a few ordered so that I can start walking into galleries with some artwork to show immediately. I’ve seen what gets into galleries and I don’t believe they’re any better than I. They cannot be. Who really wants to see a bunch of photos of a doll face blown up? Hm? Not I.

This is the start of a lot of blogs that will be set-up to automatically update. It would be great to improve my writing skills. Maybe I should buy a creative writing book. Amazon never gives me a “recommended” creative writing book. I guess I will have to actually search for one on my own. Geez.

I just had hardcore dejavu.

Anyway, I should talk/type about the photograph above.

It was taken in Times Square(if you couldn’t tell) and I remember this day being very cold and trying to hurry and make it to the 7 train but I kept seeing photo opportunities and you know me. I can’t pass them up. Especially when stock photography sites probably love these kinds of basic photos. Sell sell sell, it’s the world we live in.

Long has it been since I’ve been to New York. Every month or so I was traveling back and forth to visit Sarah. Now that she’s here with me I haven’t been back and forth. It was nice coming into LaGuardia airport and driving from Queens to Wappingers.

This photo was taken in Brooklyn while working on a photoshoot with awesome architectural photographer Fred Charles. Internship was awesome.

You can’t visit New York without going to the Jersey shore every now and then. Only about two hours away a “paradise” awaits you. Seaside Heights is where this photo was taken. This is the exact spot where I first saw the ocean. We visit Seaside only in the winter for some reason and it’s become this place that Sarah and I have great memories.

Artwork has been pouring out of me this week. That is mainly the reason why you haven’t been seeing that many photographs appearing on the blog in a while. I recently became able to update my stock of these canvases that I make and then the ideas started appearing.

I don’t know if I want to sell all of these pieces or just keep them together and show them as one whole piece when the time comes. Who says that they’ll even sell? Who says that they’ll even show?

Who says.

Anyway, this piece was inspired by my time spent in New York over a two or so year on and off visit. The Empire State building was always my favorite building even before I really knew where it was. The shape of it has been iconic and is nearly drilled into everyone’s head by now. The idea of the bubbles? Everything is cooler..underwater.
